Fritz Corporate Carbon Footprint
The Fritz Group is partner of the LCL cooperation CargoLine Logistics Network – which was the first LCL cooperation to score the “environment protection hat-trick” – CargoLine is certified in accordance to DIN EN ISO 9001 including HACCP concept and logistical services as well as according to DIN EN ISO 14001, ISO 14064 (CO2 footprint in the network) and DIN EN 16258 (CO2footprint per shipment).
We are involved in the certification in the sector “calculation of the CO2 footprint per shipment" on the basis of the norm DIN EN 16258-2013-03, published in March 2013.
This officially confirms that the method used by the LCL cooperation in order to calculate the shipment-specific CO2 footprint accords to the Europe-wide valid standard, which was developed specifically for the logistics sector. The norm dictates that all greenhouse gases have to be measured and converted into carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e). Thereby, the calculation also, for example, includes methane, nitric oxides and fluorinated hydrocarbon, in addition to carbon dioxide.
The calculation of the shipment-specific CO2 footprint of our shipments within the cooperation is based exclusively on real data. These were gathered in the course of an intricate process in 2012 and 2013. The analysis was conducted in accordance with the intersectoral standards ISO 14064 (Network Carbon Footprint) and Greenhouse Gas Protocol, as the certification company Intertek confirmed in January 2013.
On basis of the greenhouse protocol our CO2e footprint amounts to 14.015t in 2014, which is a decrease of 9% compared to 2013.
